LABOR’S WEAKNESS OVER CFMEU EXPOSED ONCE AGAIN
Labor continued its weak response to the CFMEU bikie and underworld infiltration crisis today by allowing the Queensland, Western Australian and ACT construction divisions to keep donating to the party.
Shadow Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations Senator Michaelia Cash said the decision by the ALP national executive was a joke but typical of Labor’s weakness on this issue.
“Prime Minister Anthony Albanese leads with weakness and the party follows along,’’ Senator Cash said.
“There is no valid reason for carving out the Queensland, Western Australian and ACT divisions – it’s just more proof of the weak and conflicted response to this crisis,’’ she said.
“The Albanese Labor Government should have deregistered the CFMEU not moved to place parts of it into administration,’’ Senator Cash said.
“Labor has benefitted to the tune of over $6.2 million from CFMEU donations since Mr Albanese has been leader and they are happy for the money to continue to flow from parts of the CFMEU,’’ she said
“It really shows how they will do anything to appease the CFMEU even when such appalling behaviour, including violence, thuggery, intimidation and bullying has been revealed,’’ Senator Cash said.
